1967 Dunhill FET Root Briar
This is a nice little Dunhill with an issue at the shank. The stem is most likely a replacement and prior owner, in his infinite wisdom, decided he wanted to work on the shank to make it smaller…why??? I do not know for sure but I suspect it was because the diameter of the replacement stem was just a bit smaller than the shank. Anyway the shank end at the stem junction has been sanded down.
This is a nice smoker as I have smoked it a number of times…the issue takes away the “collectible factor” of the pipe…otherwise it is a good smoker and will stand the test of time and the reduced price reflects the shank/stem issue.
