Markings:"TALBERT MORTA", "6C"
Here's a cute little Morta Classic from 2006, one of the better quality ones produced after our first few years of occasional struggles working with morta. As with most of my mortas, it is s small-bowled pipe in a wide, flat Prince shape, and should serve well as a casual smoker or "workbreak" smoke. FWIW, I'd suggest a good flake tobacco with this one, preferably something quite dark and rich like Old Ironsides or a Gawith Black Rope.
**Special Note** There aren't going to be any more Morta Classics produced from Briere morta. I have some remaining stock of morta from the Briere, but I intend to use it for increasingly infrequent Talberts of a higher grade than this - They will be stamped Talbert Pipes instead of Talbert Morta, and have handcut stems made from swirled ebonite or custom-cast acrylic.
In general, they will be higher-end pipes all around, and as a result of this fact coupled with their decreasing supply, they will also be a good bit more expensive than these. If you are interested in a Talbert Morta in this price range, I'd strongly encourage you to buy one of these last few from Pipe & Pint, because there simply aren't going to be any more Talbert Mortas for these prices.
